The most common worry we hear from plant-based members: can I actually get enough protein? The short answer is yes, it just takes a little intention.
Where plant protein comes from
- Legumes, lentils, chickpeas, black beans, roughly 15 to 18g of protein per cooked cup.
- Tofu and tempeh, tempeh is especially dense at around 20g per 100g.
- Seitan, wheat-based and very high in protein.
- Quinoa, oats, nuts and seeds, smaller amounts that add up across a day.
Rotate, do not repeat
The trick is variety. Rotating your protein sources across the week covers the full range of amino acids and keeps meals interesting: a lentil bolognese one night, a crispy chickpea bowl the next, tofu stir-fry after that.
Do not forget B12
Vitamin B12 is the one nutrient plant foods reliably do not provide, so a daily supplement (or fortified foods) is standard on any well-built vegan plan. It is a small habit that prevents a real deficiency.
Every TailorFork vegan plan is built to hit your protein target from these sources and includes a daily B12 reminder, so it is handled for you.
